The Madison Port has a vacant industrial site available for occupation/lease by a heavy metal fabrication or other large manufacturing firm. This site was utilized by Northrop Grumman Shipbuilders for over 10 years as a satellite facility for their New Orleans facility. At one time during the occupation of this facility, there were over 140 full-time employees (welders, ship fitters, electricians, maintenance personnel, etc.) working day shift with a significant number of additional employees working the night shift. A corporate decision was made to relocate all of its Louisiana operations to Pascagoula, MS, their state of the art shipbuilding facility that was rebuilt after hurricane Katrina. The site that is available is located on 55 fenced acres with 6 buildings within this area. The largest building is 101,280 square feet with four overhead cranes that work well with heavy manufacturing. There is an outer storage building that is 7,200 square feet. The second out building previously used for pipe shop fabrication measures 7,260 square feet. There is an exterior 2,225 square foot storage building. The administrative offices are 3085 square feet and the security guard shack office building is 625 square feet.
